Back to Basics

Back to Basics incorporates classical Hatha yoga, comprised of static postures that are held for several breaths and slow vinyasa flow, incorporating breathing techniques and meditation. Back to basics classes provide students with lots of instruction regarding safe and correct alignment of postures as well as hands-on assistance. This enables participants to gain the maximum benefits and progress to more challenging classes in a safe and encouraging way. It is suitable for beginners and intermediate practitioners. Classes are 75 minutes and a perfect re-entry for students returning to yoga who may be recovering from injury, are post-birth, or starting yoga for the first time.

General Yoga

Suitable for beginners and those with a little experience under their belt, general yoga draws on Vinyasa and Iyengar principles in order to help you understand the actions required to deepen your practice, build strength and increase flexibility. This class aims to give you the tools to confidently develop your home practice and explore other levels and styles of yoga. Expect to challenge yourself, develop confidence and relax deeply.

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa flow yoga classes are a dynamic form of yoga, comprised of flowing sequenced postures, breathing practices and meditation. Slow movement encourages moving at a pace with the natural breath, teaching the physiology to calm down, even during a stronger practice. There is an emphasis on refining alignment and correct practice techniques to assist you in gaining the maximum safe benefit from your practice. All levels are welcome, with the option to build on postures and sequences for more experienced students. These multi-level classes are are designed to increase stability, strength and flexibility. 

Little Stretch

Little Stretch yoga classes are designed to help new parents establish a regular yoga practice with babe in arms. It operates as a progressive stepping stone to allow parents rediscover their flexibility, stability and strength, in order to feel confident in attending a general yoga class without baby. It's an opportunity to build awareness in your bodies in order to understand appropriate modifications for common yoga poses, particularly in those early months of parenthood. Little Stretch is a 5 week course and bookings are essential. More information and next course dates can be found here.

Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal yoga is specifically tailored to suit women through every stage of their pregnancy. Classes are small, ensuring that students are given the attention they need, and run for 60 minutes. Common poses are modified to suit your changing body, as well as other practices to help strengthen, stabilise and release the body in preparation for birth. Lucy is a registered prenatal yoga teacher with a wealth of experience working with pregnant women, as well as drawing on her experiences through her own very different pregnancies. Pregnant students are welcomed and encouraged to join Lucy's General and Back to Basics classes – please arrive at least 10 minutes early to ensure Lucy can discuss appropriate modifications with you.
